"Cherostic Mark You Have Been Surviving as the Chairperson Greater Sebei Musicians Association on my Mercy" Brian Lee Spits Fire 🔥
KAPCHORWA, UGANDA – Tensions are rising within the Greater Sebei Musicians Federation following the controversial replacement of Brian Lee as Secretary General, a move that has sparked a heated exchange between him and Federation Chairperson Cherostic Mark.
In a strongly worded statement shared via WhatsApp on Sunday, Brian Lee challenged the legitimacy of his removal, insisting that Cherostic Mark lacks the authority to oust him from any position within the musicians' body.
> “Tell him that he has no capacity to remove me from any position in the Greater Sebei Musicians Association,” Brian Lee stated. “It’s me who has accommodated him all this while because he is not a registered member of the Greater Sebei Musicians Association.”
The internal rift appears to be fueled not only by leadership struggles but also by financial matters related to funds earmarked for the federation’s activities. Brian Lee revealed that he had hoped to handle the matter discreetly until funds were disbursed and shared among all musicians fairly.
> “I wanted us to play this low key until we receive the money and share with all musicians,” he noted. “We want to make sure that Cherostic doesn't receive any money meant for musicians—we must safeguard all of it for proper use.”
In a tone that sought to de-escalate further conflict, Brian Lee added that some details are best kept private to avoid public embarrassment among artists.
> “Those are things which are a little private, and I always don't want to bring them out to the public because all of us are artists and we shouldn't take advantage of each other regardless.”
The Federation is yet to release an official statement in response to the allegations or clarify the current leadership structure. Meanwhile, musicians and fans alike are calling for transparency and unity within the community, urging leaders to prioritize the welfare of all artists in the region.
The fallout comes at a time when the creative arts sector in Sebei is seeking more recognition and support—raising concerns that internal divisions could stall progress.
What’s Up Kapchorwa will continue to monitor this developing story.
